3 | Mr. Darab Nagarwalla | Teacher |

About: Looking towards the challenging realities of today's world, I have come to believe passionately from many years of involvement in the field of education, that all education has two ultimate purposes. First and foremost education needs to prepare children to play their part in working towards solutions to the world's most pressing problems. Secondly, education needs to prepare children to find ways to ensure healthy, fulfilling, sustainable lives for themselves and more importantly future generations to come. I have found from my teaching experiences that creating meaningful educational experiences that strive to 'hit the sweet spots' of the naturally fertile imagination of a child at different developmental stages is an effective and enjoyable approach that helps to get students interested and kickstart their agency of learning. Working as an outdoor educator has taught me me that relating abstract concepts to real- life issues, using a variety of collaborative hands- on (and minds- on) activities, and an enquiry- based approach go a long way in getting students engaged. Incorporating place- based education builds relevance to daily life, and bringing both outdoor and classroom settings into my lessons helps keep monotony away.
